PRESS RELEASE:

Navan O’Mahonys GAA Club to host AIB GAA ‘Skills’ Day

AIB, proud sponsors of the AIB GAA Club Championships are linking up with Navan O’Mahonys GAA Club to celebrate the club’s recent county success and acknowledge the role which the club plays in the community by supporting their very own ‘skills’ day on Saturday 10th November from 2pm – 4pm.

The AIB GAA Skills day will be hosted by GAA stars Colm “Gooch” Cooper, and Dublin senior player and 2012 GAA All-Star Paul Flynn. Each of the GAA stars will lead teams, made up from the club’s underage panels on the clubs pitch from 2pm – 4pm and this will involve a series of interactive and fun football skills.

Club members and those in the local community are encouraged to come along for the afternoon, which gets underway at 1.30pm to show their support for the club and join in the celebration of Navan O’Mahonys GAA Club and its achievements.

Supporting clubs and communities has been at the heart of AIB’s sponsorship strategy for years and AIB want to acknowledge the huge achievement and honour it is for a club to win it’s county final. The AIB GAA Skills event is a chance for the club to celebrate their achievements and to thank their local community and members for their ongoing support

There will be more AIB Skills days taking place right into 2013 in each of the other provinces.

There is also an opportunity for other GAA clubs that have not enjoyed the same success at county level to vote for their club to host their own AIB skills day by simply voting for your club on the AIB Club is family Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/clubisfamily?fref=ts

Editors note re club selection procedure:

Clubs who had won their county finals across both codes and all levels (Junior, Intermediate and Senior) were eligible to host an event, with full support from AIB. A shortlist of county finalist clubs from each province were chosen at random and one club from each province was then selected to host the AIB GAA Skills Day in their club.
