Girls take u16 title

June-1-2013O’Mahonys claimed the girls u16 division 3 title with a 3 point, exciting victory over Na Fianna. Well done to all involved!

This was a very closely contested game with some very fine football played by both sides. Neither Na Fianna or Navan O Mahonys had lost a game on the road to the final and they were not prepared to let this one slip form their grasp. At half time the Two teams were level at 2 goals and 3 points a piece. In the second half both teams had periods of dominance. It was nail biting stuff for the mentors and spectators as Na Fianna went ahead and then O Mahonys battled to come back into the game. Neither team gave up. It boiled down to determination, and a bit of luck that the Navan O Mahonys girls were the champions when the final whistle blew. A very entertaining game and congrats to the Navan O Mahonys girls for a great team display.
