U16 hurling v Clan na Gael

August-10-2011This last round game was to decide who qualified as runner up in this U16 B hurling championship.
A highly entertaining game in Athboy on a sunny Sunday morning saw O’Mahony’s take the spoils by 2 points.
Clan na Gael scored four times as they dominated the first quarter.
O’Mahony’s got back into the game with two pointed frees from Patrick Leahy. Sean Mc Entaggert was introduced for the injured Thomas Hamilton and made an instant impact.

After the break O’Mahony’s enjoyed a lot of possesion leading to first goal of the game, when Colin O’Brien broke through and shot to bottom left corner. Sean McEntaggert then pointed to draw level.
Exchanged points left it level again.
O’Mahony’s best move involving four players ended with Gavin Fox hitting the net and the lead for the first time.Within two minutes Clan na Gael levelled 1-09 to 2-06 with a well taken goal
With five minutes remaining David Dillon scored a free from 55 meters to take the lead again. Clan na gael scored once more. Another point from Dillon and one from McEntaggert left the final score Clan na Gael 1-10 Navan O’Mahony’s 2-09
